THERMOCARBON

In the search for new materials, we do not forget about the environmental friendliness and naturalness of costumes. It is with this philosophy and concern for nature that Xcel developed ThermoCarbon / ThermoBamboo to meet all of their criteria and requirements. This material is found in most of the interior panels of our surf, kite, wakeboard and dive wetsuits. It is made from bamboo-charcoal and recycled fibers. Bamboo is air-dried and burned in a vacuum oven, resulting in charcoal with excellent heat-shielding properties, which is then converted into fibrous filaments in a centrifuge. They are combined with PET material, which was safely obtained from recycled plastic products.

ThermoCarbon / ThermoBamboo has excellent wetsuit heat retention properties, and production has become more environmentally friendly and safer, because bamboo grows very quickly and has no harmful effects on component health.

LIMESTONE TECHNOLOGY

Preferring to use natural materials wherever possible, Xcel uses limestone as the main ingredient for all neoprene products and adhesives. So as the limestone conversion process is quite energy intensive, the manufacturer uses hydroelectric power plants, which is certainly a cleaner source of energy than oil-based processes. And, to take it one step further, the waste heat generated from the limestone conversion is also recycled to power the local aquaculture. The use of limestone allows us to make production environmentally friendly, and the final product is natural and not harmful to health.
