GNU was founded by snowboarders Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. All boards are made in the USA, the factory is famous for its handmade production, and all employees ride what they produce. The company also pays great attention to ecology, producing its boards from special, fast-growing tree species.

Magne-Traction is 7 strategically placed smooth ridges on the edge line. They stand out the most in the binding area, where the center of gravity is located, which adds control and power exactly where they are needed most. The rest of the lugs are smaller and not as aggressive, providing control and turning ice into snow!
